To Whom I t May Concern;

My wife and I have a project that was started in 1996, Bringing Home The Wall. It is a small scale of the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Unlike the Traveling Wall ours is 8’ tall and 46’ long with many different designs for setting up in the space allowed. As you can see it is designed to be set up inside the building where many vets are still housed due to illnesses or the incapability to leave. They will never be able to go to D.C. or the Traveling Wall so ours comes to them. They deserve the closure it offers as much as any other vet who can visit the two previously mentioned walls.

We also have a ribbon in the colors of the Viet Nam Service Ribbon that we have everyone sign, Vets and families alike. When the ribbon is 494’ long we have permission from Washington to have the Color Guard march it out to the wall and display it the length of the wall with all the names and prayers and messages on the ribbon. We intend to do this on the first Memorial Day that the Ribbon reaches that length. This would coincide with the annual run Rolling Thunder makes. Most of the Rolling Thunder members are Vets themselves and who would be more appropriate to be in attendance when the ribbon is displayed? What an honor for the Vets and the families that signed and left messages on the ribbon.

I myself am a disabled vet and I know what pleasure I get to see the faces, and hear the comments about our wall visiting these vets, from the vets and their families. It is our goal to bring it to as many VA Hospitals as possible and just recently schools have shown an interest to have it set up in the schools.

Due to the fact that I only receive a small disability pension we are limited to the places we can go. It has left us no alternative but to team up with an outstanding Non-Profit Organization, ABC, of Melbourne, Florida. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have the Vets who protected your interest’s see that you sponsored or donated to help move this wall around the country? Imagine the pride they would feel to be reunited in a way, with the friends they fought with in battle, as well as the pride you will undoubtedly feel knowing that you helped.

You can view my wall at www.BringingHomeTheWall.com. I have had our wall at many functions and to the VA Hospitals in Connecticut and Florida. The expenses are high but the rewards are great. Men who haven’t been to Washington, getting closure from visiting our Wall, inside, that came to them. Many left happy and more left in tears. Tears for the wall being there and tears for the opportunity to say their final goodbyes.

Please find it in your heart to help or at least offer suggestions that may eventually help us get funded. I’m 63 and my wonderful wife is 60. We don’t have many years left to bring this around.
