CAA Sports Signs Top Pro Athletes

CAA, one of the most powerful talent agencies in Hollywood, has just launched CAA Sports -- and it seems many top pro athletes are joining forces with the agency.

CAA has always been home to top movie stars like Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, and Brad Pitt, but now it's getting a nice lineup of top sports stars as well.

CAA Sports now represents Derek Jeter, Allen Iverson, Ryan Zimmerman, Lebron James, Ryan Howard, Oscar De La Hoya, and hockey superstar Sidney Crosby plus about 380 others. They also helped negotiate the $250 million deal that brought David Beckham to L.A.'s Galaxy team for 5 years.

CAA Sports says their clients "will enjoy the extensive resources of the entire agency, from film, television, music, licensing and endorsements to marketing, speakers, broadcasting, philanthropy, and video games."

How did CAA get so many sports stars for its new CAA Sports division so fast? Easy. They hired top agents from other companies, who in turn brought most of their clients with them.

Of course offering their new sports stars million dollar endorsements and leading roles in upcoming Hollywood blockbusters didn't hurt, either :)
