Raising Money for Breast Cancer

Nicole kidman October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and many celebrities who have been touched by the disease are doing their part to help.

Nicole Kidman has just been named the the spokesperson for Cancer Research U.K.'s campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month according to The Daily Pink blog.

The star decided to get involved because her mother was diagnosed when Nicole was just 17. Gabrielle Union, Mya, Christina Applegate and Brittany Murphy talk about how breast cancer has affected their lives in this video for Self.com.

Sheryl Crow, Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Demi Moore and Christina Applegate all autographed and designed t-shirts for the Design A Cure Campaign to be auctioned on eBay through October 31.

Men are contributing too. Pierce Brosnan is ambassador for Lee National Denim Day this Friday. Companies can register at DenimDay.com and allow their employees to wear jeans on Friday with a $5 donation to women's cancer programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation.

Other celebrites have contributed autographed items, helping to raise thousands of dollars for the cause. According to USA Today, Kerry Washington, Heidi Klum, Kate Bosworth, Don Cheadle, Brandon Routh, Ellen Pompeo, Gabrielle Union, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ginnifer Goodwin, Ben Stiller, Rob Lowe and Richie Sambora all autographed and decorated denim pockets to be auctioned through CharityFolks.com for Lee National Denim Day this Friday to benefit women's cancer programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation.
