A School Teacher's Interesting Tip

Handwriting Now that the school year has started, a great way to teach students (especially younger ones) is to let them write a letter to their favorite celebrity. This works for both parents and teachers.

Here's a letter we received from Contact Any Celebrity member Jeff Nobles of Birmingham, Alabama:

"Hey guys, I teach 6th grade Language Arts. We enjoyed using your book this year to write celebrity letters. The students were so excited that some of them ordered their own copy. We mailed about 80 letters, and received a response from about half of them.

How To Meet Celebrities: Part 2

jeffrey gitomerHere's another story from Jeffrey Gitomer's "The Little Black Book of Connections":

"I was boarding a plane (to who knows where) one day, taking my usual seat of 2C, and noticed that in 2A sat Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly.

'Hi, I'm a big fan,' I said. 'You probably don't remember me, but I attended your talk at a sales convention for a cellular phone company, and you autographed a football for me.' He smiled.

I continued, 'You probably don't remember that I was also a keynote presenter at the same convention. My subject of expertise is sales and customer service. So I've autographed my boarding pass for you.' Handing it to him, I said, 'I wouldn't mind you autographing yours and giving it to me.'

e smiled, autographed his boarding pass, and handed both back to me."

Christina Aguilera Says "Thank You"

christina aguilera In last Friday's "USA Today," Christina Aguilera spoke about her new album, "Back to Basics," her husband Jordan Bratman, and the fan mail she receives.

Here's some of what Christina said:

"The fan letters I get don't ask me to write about anybody else. I'm going to write songs about me. A lot of fan mail thanks me for helping them figure out their own personal problems.

I think it's a very giving record. I'm thanking my husband for the love in my life. The kind of artists I appreciate put themsleves on the line. That's what I gravitate toward, realness."

How To Meet Celebrities: Part 1

Gitomer In Jeffrey Gitomer's new book, "The Little Black Book of Connections," he talks about how to meet famous people:

"Most of the time connecting with someone famous (or infamous) happens by accident when you see them. Yesterday at the airport, when Jessica and I were going through security, she leaned over and said, "There's Mike Tyson."

Sure enough, there he was. "I'm a big fan," I said to him. Immediately he extended his hand in friendship. I took it, looked him right in the eye and said, "I wish you every success." He thanked me and smiled.

That was it. I didn't ask for his autograph. I made it short and sweet, and kept the memory. I think that's the best way to meet someone famous. Short and sweet."
